Time to Travel!

5 Star Coach is staying busy over the next two months! We have trips scheduled from Orlando to some great locations throughout the country.

We have the opportunity to take a group to Washington DC tomorrow through the 13th and another group again from the 17th through the 20th. Nothing like traveling to our great nations capital! Definitely looking forward to this trip.

Our coach is also headed to “Sin City.” We are taking Vegas by storm with a group that is very excited to check out the casinos and all that Vegas has to offer. 5 Star plans on hitting the road on September 22nd and returning the 26th. This trip will definitely be an enjoyable one!

Another big trip we are taking is headed towards our national memorial, Mt. Rushmore! The trip to South Dakota will show some of the beauty our nation has to offer.  Seeing such a monumental piece of American history will be sensational.

In between these trips, we will be taking periodic casino excursions. We love staying busy and are excited about all of our September and October journeys!

Where is Five Star Coach today?!

This week, Five Star Coach is having the pleasure of escorting a group of senior citizens to the casino in Tunica and Biloxi, Mississippi. They are definitely enjoying themselves on our beautiful charter bus and have expressed countless times how much fun they are having on the excursion.

Here is our charter bus in front of the casino!

The senior group is certainly enjoying the ride to Biloxi, MS.

The whole group decided to strike a pose for me in front of the charter!

Our casino trip is going great and we can’t wait to work with these folks again in the future! For more information on Orlando’s Five Star Coach, please call 407-344-4325.

Remember When…

Remember the days of school and how exciting it was to go on a field trip?  How about when you were going far enough away to not have to ride in one of those hot, old school buses?

As if the fact of leaving school wasn’t enough, it was always a major plus when a charter bus was driving us with televisions playing our favorite movies, air conditioning to help us beat the heat, and those comfortable,  cloth seats for us to get cozy in for the long drive.

I remember one trip in particular. When I was ten years old, the entire fourth grade took a trip to see the beautiful and historic St. Augustine, Florida. There were so many fantastic things about the city. We toured the forts, shopped around in the antique stores, and ate some delicious, fried food. But you know what I remember the most? The time I spent with my group of five best friends on the charter bus ride over and back. We watched the movie “The Sandlot” and discussed how each of us were like the different characters of the movie, I was Smalls. We all talked, laughed, and planned our trip to the neighborhood baseball field the following day. I remember as if it were yesterday, yet it was so long ago.

It’s like that saying, “it’s not the destination that counts, it’s the journey you take to get there.” So for your next trip, call 5 Star Coach at 407-344-4325 to make some memories on your journey!

A Trip To Biloxi

5 Star Coach frequents Biloxi, Mississippi, but often times we have people ask us, “What is there to do in Biloxi besides Gamble?” – Well, that is a good question. In our quest to find activities that don’t involve gambling, we have come across some great activities that you wouldn’t want to miss out on!

Visit The Biloxi Lighthouse-  The world’s only lighthouse located in the middle of a four-lane highway.

Visit the Beauvoir – the  grand plantation and the home to Jefferson Davis.

You can also visit one of the many historic museums in Biloxi:

Maritime and Seafood Industry Museum:
This maritime museum has exhibits on shrimping, oystering and wooden boat building as well as charter boats, a shrimp peeling machine, and catboats.
Mardi Gras Museum:
The Mardi Gras museum is in a five-room house and displays Mari Gras costumes and exhibits.
Biloxi is a city in Harrison County, Mississippi, in the United States.Biloxi was the third largest city in Mississippi; but with its population losses following that storm, Hattiesburg now has that distinction. Biloxi is a great place to visit with large casinos and endless gambling opportunities; however Biloxi also has some historic landmarks that you shouldn’t miss out on.

Another Great Trip

Recently, I took a group of nice people with the Incirlik High School Alumni to Black Hammock in Oviedo to go air boating. Peggy, the lady that organized the outing told me that coordinating an event can be difficult. Not everything you plan will go just as you expect it to.

Here is what Peggy with the Incirlik Alumni had to say about her experience with 5 Star Coach:

I would like to take this time to thank Wes Kirkpatrick and Five Star Coach for the awesome service provided for my group event in Orlando June, 2010.  Wes arrived promptly, and the transportation needs for this event went off without a hitch.  Wes is very personable, and made our trip an enjoyable one.  The bus is not only exquisite, but also spotless.  Wes also had on-board entertainment via the many overhead TV\’s. As an event planner, it is critical to know that all of your outside vendors are going to do exactly as they were contracted to do.  Unfortunately, more times than not there are going to be some issues arise.  However, that was not the case with Five Star Coach, and I would put my personal seal of approval on the services provided.  Highly recommend!

Sincerely,

Peggy/ Incirlik Alumni Association

Thank you very much Peggy it was a pleasure taking you and your group to Black Hammock.

Three Great Books to Read While Traveling

I find that travel related books inspire the travel you’re already on and continues to give you strength to keep on going. Learning about a new city before you arrive will greatly enhance your experience and appreciation of your destination.

Eat, Pray, Love….This is a great book to read while traveling. It will inspire you to really enjoy the food and  experience all there is to offer of the places you visit.

Into the wild by Jon Krakauer, a true story of an American guy who went to Alaska after giving all of his worldly possessions. This book really gives you that feeling you get when you are about to take a huge risk and embark on the unknown. Exciting!!!

Smile When You’re Lying: Confessions of a Rogue Travel written by Chuck Thompson. This is a funny story about an ex travel writer  who after retirement rebels and writes what he really wanted to say about his travel experiences. Very funny.

These books are easy reads and I really enjoyed them. Many of my tour bus passengers bring magazines and books to relax and settle down with. Although the bus has movies playing, happy hour, etc..it is nice for some passengers after a long day site seeing or enjoying a particular casino to just get lost in a book.

Have a great week Orlando and enjoy the books! If you would like to charter a tour bus for your senior community or organization event, please call…407.344.4325
